ABOUT

ABOUT CHARLIE

Charlie is a UK-based songwriter who writes primarily for Musical Theatre, although her extensive catalogue spans a wide variety of genres. She collaborates with a multitude of artists and is currently working closely with new record label Westway Music, writing original material for some of the biggest stars of the West End stage.

In 2023, Charlie’s song ‘Battlefield’ was the first single for Kerry Ellis ft Sir Brian May from Kerry’s album ‘Kings and Queens’, which went on to enjoy national and international radio play on stations such as Magic FM and BBC Radio 2 (Elaine Paige show).

In 2019, Charlie's first musical 'Gretel!' (book by Liv Warden) debuted at Lloyd-Webber's The Other Palace Studio for a brief sold-out run. Since then, the work has undergone extensive changes and in 2023, in its new form 'The Clockwatcher', the show was selected as one of the winning works for the Overture programme. This development scheme will culminate in an industry showcase at The Other Palace in December 2023.

Charlie is a member of Mercury Musical Developments’ Advanced Writers Lab 1, along with some of the best musical theatre writers in the UK.

Charlie has worked with many artists and hit songwriters including X Factor winner Shayne Ward, Grammy Award winner Rob Davis, and other hit writers such as Pam Sheyne and Tim Fraser. She has recorded in some of the best studios in the world, including Abbey Road Studio 2, The Pool Studios and The Umbrella Rooms.
